Rush is a cute guy who needs a home!

Foster Home Feedback

2/7/18: Rush has been with us for over a month now, and he has really settled in nicely.  He gets along with all of the dogs he has met, but sometimes he needs reminding to leave our old cranky dog alone since he always wants to play.  Rush is improving walking on a leash as well as his manners in the home.  He is practically a Houdini when it comes to counter-surfing, so that is something we watch closely and are working with him on.

Rush is incredibly smart, and he is responding well to training.  He is a dog that really benefits from training and mental stimulation during these cold months! We can only guess that Rush would love to go on jogs with people, but his foster parents are not into running. Now that Rush has really settled down and has become less fearful in the home, we have found out that he LOVES to snuggle and cuddle!!  He will come and sit on your lap on the couch or curl up next to you (or on top of you if you let him!) if you are laying in bed.

Rush has figured out how to use the cozy cave dog bed and likes to go in there to hang out.  Rush still acts a little puppy-ish, so small children are probably not the best match for him.  He has met older, considerate children and done very well with them.  Please consider adding this sweet and energetic boy to your family!

1/14/18: Rush is a sweet young boy with a lot of energy to share!  He loves to follow his humans around the house, go for walks, and chew on his dog toys. Rush can be anxious when he meets new people, but he is working on it with his foster parents. This is something that new adopters will need to continue working on with him. Rush kennels during the day while his foster parents are at work. He is still getting used to being calm in his kennel, so he occasionally barks when he is in there. Because of his nervousness and anxiety, he is on a medication that helps keep him more calm and comfortable. Once Rush knows you and warms up to you, he will expect cuddles and pets from you! He met a cat and did just fine with the cat. Rush LOVES to play, play, play with other dogs and really enjoys their company. He would probably do best in a home with another dog, especially a dog that would like to play with him! Rush has not been around small children yet, but he still acts like a silly puppy sometimes and occasionally gets a little mouthy, so this is something adopters with children should keep in mind. He is a smart little guy looking for a home with patient adopters that are willing to help continue his training!
